Life Balance Creating Harmony in a Business Professional's Life

Life Balance Creating Harmony in a Business Professional's Life, Achieve Health & Peak Performance

Creating harmony in your life as a business professional takes discipline, self-control, and a commitment to priorities.

With the many demands continually pressing executives professionally, there is unlimited possibilities for distractions and deadly attractions. While urgent is not important, neither is that which is good always best.

Attending to your own health first and foremost is essential to maximize and achieve well-being, which is foundation to all you do on a daily basis. Peak performance begins the way we care for our bodies and inner life.

Properly regulating and filtering your thoughts, eliminating deadly mindsets that sabotage success, and pushing beyond miniscule mentalities of others can be a daily battle. Nevertheless if this battle is not won, the overall war at large shall be lost before it is even begun.

Here then are some secrets every business professional can use to achieve and protect personal greatness; guard your time and productivity; and ensure your personal well-being and a harmonious life.

1. Exercise regularly every week.

Exercise liberates your mind from the burdens of the day and enables you to get a mental break from all of the perplexing difficulties that bombard you throughout your schedule.

More importantly exercise burns fat, increases muscle mass, strengthens your body, and sustains your heart and life force. Exercise leads to a higher metabolic rate, which translates into more energy and higher productivity.

2. Meditate and reflect daily.

Meditation and reflection enables you to go deeper within and explore your world. As you do you shall come to new self-discoveries, experience great awakenings, and enlarge your own level of self-awareness.

As you awaken to who you are, inwardly you will become a more secure and confident person. This shall immediately be translated into your speech and daily performance. Others will see you are less critical and insecure, more transparent and approachable. Hence you will be able to more easily and happily connect with yourself and others around you.

3. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving.

Choose and decide to focus on the positive rather than fixate on the negative. Be a positive person. Remember the sun always shines above the clouds. Reframe your perspective and in so doing alter what you project.

As you do you will set in motion a positive law of attraction and begin to get what you expect. Be thankful and see the good in everyone and every challenging circumstance. Learn the hidden messages and universal secrets for serendipitous events beyond your control.

4. Add value everywhere you go.

Compliment and praise people everywhere you go, realizing you may be the only one who does. When you appreciate others, your own value appreciates and increases simultaneously. Add value by lending a helping hand, giving an encouraging word, and looking beyond self.

5. Identify problems and obstacles, while being proactive before they take you out.

Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? Be proactive rather than complaining and being buried by the problem. Be bigger than that which is burdening you and engineer a breakthrough!

Get through what you are going through by replacing anxiety with creativity!

6. Cultivate meaningful relationships.

Meaningful relationships lubricate your soul, touch your heart, and add purpose to your life. Life without love and people is quite empty. Therefore give of your heart before expressing your mind. Let your compassion surpass your criticism, both of self and others.

Rejoice and celebrate people as they are the most precious gift and commodity life has to offer. Refuse to reduce people to their balance sheet - dollars and cents. Look beyond financials and awaken to character and that which is most substantial within human nature.

7. Go where you are celebrated, not merely tolerated.

Stop wasting your time and people who don't want to change or embrace your vision. Fire them and replace them with willing employees who are adaptable and flexible. Socially stop tormenting yourself by interacting with people you dislike. Life consists of time, which is the most precious resource. Don't squander your time on events and people you don't enjoy.

Choose to be around people who lift you up and enrich your life. Don't let extended family burden and monopolize your life if they don't deeply appreciate and respect you. You are under no obligation to spend your life on that which frustrates you most. Learn to say no without feeling guilty.

8. Give back somehow through your life.

We make a life not out of that which we earn, but what we give. Giving essentially is living. Only those who are blessed can be a blessing. Therefore when you give to a cause greater than yourself, you enlarge your world and step into greatness.

Lance Armstrong not only rides a bike, but champions the cause of all cancer victims. What are you living for? If it is not worth dying for, perhaps you need to look a bit deeper to discover a larger purpose with which you can connect and be propelled forth by.

9. Express love to those most important to you.

Ironically often we fail to communicate and express our love to those most dear to us. Don't let that be said about you. Open your heart and be lavish in expressing your love and adoration of those you cherish. As you do such love and goodwill shall generously return to you!

10. Push through seasons of pain, while learning the life lessons they bring.

Pain is problematic, but also instructive. Hear the hidden message and learn the life lessons so you will not need to repeat the cycle. As children we are made to repeat the grades we flunk. Fall forward and learn from your difficult experiences, rather than merely complaining about them.

11. Develop daily discipline beginning with your thoughts and speech.

Think kingly and speak with dignity and grace. Elegance is often absent from our daily lives and conduct, but if we would cultivate it within it would more naturally manifest through us.

Think big thoughts. Cultivate the intellectual within. Ask more probing and revealing questions of yourself and others. Yet be gracious and enjoy the journey. Speak with grace and class, showing mercy realizing one day you will need the same.

12. Be quick to hear and slow to speak.

Many of our problems are brought upon us by the words of our mouth. Therefore hold your tongue and examine your thoughts before recklessly uttering them. Formulate your thoughts and articulate what you mean clearly lest you be misunderstood.

Build on the power of agreement, establishing win-win negotiations with mutual respect.
